AVG. Price Dinner at Top of the World @ Stratosphere

hey,

has anyone eaten here and can tell me how much the average check is for 2 people? what is the avg entree price and that sort.

NOT including alcohol.

AVG. Price Dinner at Top of the World @ Stratosphere

Do NOT go there!! It is a big tourist trap with sub-par food! If you really want food with a view, The Eiffel Tower Restaurant and Alize at the Palms both offer great views and great food.

AVG. Price Dinner at Top of the World @ Stratosphere

I have to agree with Mike on this one -although I wouldn%26#39;t call the food subpar. I thought it was just O.K-nothing more. For the prices you will pay you can do much much better at many other restaurants in Vegas. The pull here is the view- really nice but not worth it if you are having dinner. You can go to the lounge for drinks and then go to a restaurant that services better food. Alize does combine good food with great views.

Dear In - We ate there 3 weeks ago as we wanted a fun dining

experience with 14-yr-old son. I must say, sitting at a window

table watching the sun set and the lights come on is pretty

awe-inspiring from that height, especially when you see all directions of the valley as the room rotates. Anyway, as to your

price question - the entrees run

from about $36 (for chicken) up. Average range is $40-$50. The

salads and sides are about $8 extra. Son had prime rib at $44

and husband and I had one of their several ';price fixe'; meals, ours

of chateabriand, came with soup or salad, vegetables and

dessert for $150/couple. We had the lobster bisque and it was

wonderful, the meat was average, roasted vegs good and the

';signature'; dessert very good but not huge. We are not really

gourmets, as you can see, more ';meat and potatoes'; folks and

felt the meal fell into the ';good'; range. It was pricey but we felt

we got value due to the stunning view, excellent service and

also were able to go up to the observation deck afterwards

without paying the fee. Hope this answers your question. Oh,

the prime rib was excellent according to son, but as he inhales

food I don%26#39;t know if he is a reliable source!

24/7 cafe good eats?

Which of the casino/hotels 24/7 cafe%26#39;s have the best deals and best food?

24/7 cafe good eats?

I don%26#39;t know if you%26#39;re interested in off strip places but The Orleans and Gold Coast have good cafes with cheap graveyard specials.

24/7 cafe good eats?

Bally%26#39;s Sidewalk Cafe

I think the best food would be Cafe Bellagio---everything we ordered was fabulous. There are good values at the Victorian Room at Bill%26#39;s from like 11pm-6am when the have the graveyard specials for around 3.99 (eggs and choice of meat). Plus, they have the 13.95 prime rib special 24 hours per day.

I tried Bally%26#39;s Sidewalk Cafe twice when I stayed at Bally%26#39;s and was very dissapointed with the food and service.

Bally%26#39;s Sidewalk Cafe is not open 24/7.

They mysteriously close Sunday through Thursday at 3PM each day. They open up at 6 AM the next day.

The cafe at The Luxor is very good. My DW had a great pizza there.

Junior said ';They mysteriously close Sunday through Thursday at 3PM each day. They open up at 6 AM the next day.';

ROFLMAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grand Lux Cafe at the Venetian is good and reasonably priced.

I%26#39;m with WSG, love the Cafe Bellagio, best bacon I%26#39;ve ever had!

Raffles Cafe in Mandalay Bay is 24/7 and the food is EXCELLENT- probably not the cheapest, but quality is great.

    What is a blackjack tournament?

    What is a blackjack tournament?

It generally consists of several tables, and the person with the most chips after a set number of hands (normally 25 hands) moves on to the next round and so on and so forth until someone eventually wins the tournament.

Normal blackjack rules apply, the only trick is money management.

    What is a blackjack tournament?

I%26#39;ve always been of the opinion that my money would be better invested playing on regular blackjack tables than on the entrance fee for a tournament. I%26#39;ve heard it said that card counters seem to favor tournaments these days.

Indeed, money management is key...in addition, you are really playing against the other players ( as opposed to regular canino play), and sometimes, you%26#39;ll hit, or not, just to screw up another player...

Is there a list somewhere to see when Blackjack Tournaments are? I will be in Vegas 8/9 to 8/13 and I figured I would give one of these a shot if they were going on somewhere. I have already checked LVA and their list isn%26#39;t very detailed. I%26#39;m hoping someone has a better list to check. Or maybe I could just contact the Players Club or Concierge at the MGM and have them help me once I am there?

BJinsider.com gives good info and is worth the minor subscription cost. Be advised tournament betting can be very different. You may need to split 10%26#39;s or even hit a blackjack. As was previously stated you are playing your opponents, not the house.

    BOA vs. The steakhouse

where should i eat steak, boa or circus circus steakhouse?

    BOA vs. The steakhouse

CC, forget the hotel and casino, the Steakhouse is top notch. Boa is OK, but a chain owned by the Sushi Roku people.

    Alamo car hire

We%26#39;re just about to book our car with Alamo for our trip, its saying that the pickup location is Las Vegas Arpt/Shuttle, does that mean that the Alamo car lot isn%26#39;t at the airport?

    Alamo car hire

its at the new combined car rental location located a short drive from the airport. Once you collect your bags and exit the airport turn left and its a short walk to the shuttle that will take you over there.

(also if you are booking a rental car remember to include all relevant insurances as you are from the uk)

    Alamo car hire

Thanks for the reply, I%26#39;ve just checked the car hire prices, if I put in that we are from the UK then its £200 or $400 but if I say we%26#39;re from the US then its only £140 - $280. Can we book it at the cheaper price then, ie that we%26#39;re from the US?

i think the difference in price may be down to the added insurance needed as a non us citizen, which inccreases the price substantially.

as a guide we hired a crysler 300 (luxury) for a week in june and it cost £160 with all insurance included.

im not sure if you are boking with alamo direct or not but when i was reasearching for my trip i found www.airline-network.co.uk to be the cheapest. You might want to check it out before yopu book.

bttw- what dates are you looking to hire the car for?

    Sunday 5th - Sunday 12th August

    look at this link

    airline-network.co.uk/CarHire/…

    pd=LAS%26amp;dd=LAS%26amp;pl=LAS%26amp;pdt=05-08-2007-12-00%26amp;dl=LAS%26amp;ddt=12-

    08-2007-12-00%26amp;ct=____%26amp;pax=4

£109 for an economy up to £206 for a 4 wheel drive. Not sure what car you priced at £200 with alamo but thought this might help. Good luck!

Just checked the price with www.airline-network.co.uk and its £174 for a convertible for the week. Do www.airline-network.co.uk take a deposit from your card?

as far as i remember the whole amount is debited at the time of purchase and you just bring along the printed voucher to show you have prepaid.

Detoll, thats fantastic, many thanks for your help!

So excited now, only 4 days to go!!!!

No problem matlock, am just glad i could help. I know how stressful it can be planning out and boooking everything. Just relax now and enjoy the build up. You will have a fantastic time in vegas- make sure you post a trip report when you get back so we can hear how you get on!

    All responses greatly appreciated

Are there any bad deluxe rooms at the Bellagio?

There are no ';bad'; deluxe rooms at the Bellagio. Unless you consider a bad view as being a ';bad'; room. However, some of the deluxe rooms are starting to show some wear and tear. As does every hotel after a few years of having people in the rooms everyday. I remember reading somewhere that the Bellagio is going to start renovating rooms sometime soon, just not sure on when. If I find the article again I will be sure to post it. I wouldn%26#39;t let anything scare you away from a deluxe room at the Bellagio. It%26#39;s a fine property and a wonderful place to stay.

Are there any bad deluxe rooms at the Bellagio?

im just wondering if any of the deluxe rooms have been renovated yet or is it just that some have worn bbetter than others?

I called about renovations and currently some suites are being renovated.

Some have worn better than others. But then again, Some people are pickier than others. Your average room at the Bellagio is 200 times better than say a room at the Flamingo, Harrahs, Ballys, MGM, for that matter a better part of the strip. I love the hotel personally, just as it is.

Was there a week or so ago and couldn%26#39;t fault our room - style amazing! Still my favorite place.

As someone says, depends how pickey you are. Some people are way to uptight about the state of rooms and actively seek things out!

    Barbie

We%26#39;ve stayed at Bellagio several times; have had several rooms and several views. None of them were bad.

We had a very ';worn out'; lakeview room, and it was still excellent. It%26#39;s our favorite hotel for overall on every aspect - location, dining, amenities, comps, pool, service, and shopping.

First stay at the Bellagio...usually 2x a year at Caesars....looking forward to a change......I think

My friend stayed in the Spa Tower, which is south of the main building. Her room was on the south side, the side which is closest to the Project City Center construction. This is a HUGE project where the work literally goes on 24/7. Trucks start arriving and doing their annoying beep-beep back-up sounds around 6am. I would avoid a room on the south side of the Spa Tower, maybe even the Spa Tower altogether.

$50 Cirque show tickets limited time offer via TM

Saw this post on another forum earlier today; wasn%26#39;t planning to do a CDS show in August but at this price I booked LOVE, for the third time!! Top price ticket was $50 plus $7.25 service charge. This is a great deal.

Just bought 4 tickets to Love, July 29. Got the most expensive tickets for $50 each......wow!!!! I paid less for all 4 tickets than I would have for 2 tickets.

bump for others who could use this.

    bump

Thanks, I just got tickets to LOVE also. Definately keep bumping!!

Will these be for decent seats? Or are these just the left over crappy seats. Anyone know? I don%26#39;t expect front row but something decent at least.

The ones I got were lower level. I went to Mirage website after purchase and same tickets are normally $165. Pretty good deal IMHO. They are on next to last row (5th from front). Also everyone says that no bad seat at Love.

The tickets I got for Love were Category 1, section 108 Row E.....near the front.

That is practically worth it to go back to Vegas (though was just there June 15-22) for those tickets. Man!!
