Truce on kids in Vegas

I see so much animosity spewed both ways on the topic... Remember that some misguided souls at one point chose to try and convert Vegas to a family destination, and it is them that are at fault. I think this is a great forum, with wonderful information (some of which I will always be grateful for), and I guess I will pull a Rodney King and ask, ';Can%26#39;t we all just get along?';. Seriously-the dead horse is now underground from the persistant beatings-can we put it to bed and help those who are truly in need of solid advice? If you don%26#39;t like the kids there, then direct your anger at those who build M%26amp;M world and Coke Planet, not the people that are seeing it as an affordable way to entertain their family on a meager budget. They can%26#39;t get into the casino floor, or the bars, so there are still plenty of great entertainment venues where you can be free. If you feel bad about smoking or drinking on the strip around kids, then realize that you should not-their parents chose Sin City and hopefully prepared their kids for whatever may come. If the parents of these kids complain, simply give a ';sorry'; and remind them that Vegas is ';sin city'; and the playground of adults and it just can%26#39;t be helped. I personally try not to smoke or act a fool in front of anyone, kid or adult, unless the situation is such that it is acceptable (at a casino table or floor). Just respect and have some compassion for others-you never know what their plight may be.

Truce on kids in Vegas

The truce will only work until the next person who posts a question about what to do with their kids in Vegas.

I know I don%26#39;t speak for everyone, but I just have fun debating this issue (among others).

Exactly right Sister.

If I were on a meager budget, I wouldn%26#39;t spend that money on airfare anyway. Hopping in the car and heading to the Dells would be so much cheaper.

And we get along just fine until newbies post antagonizing threads. But how are you new if you already know this is a dead horse?

Long time reader, first time poster. My husband posted in the past but I thought I would finally make my own account. We are planning an upcoming trip so I%26#39;ve be reading through more lately as I get time.

I refuse to say ';sorry'; to a parent who glares at me when they are dragging their kid around a city nicknamed ';Sin City';. Hello...

And, dead horse or not, people still respond each and every time. If you don%26#39;t want to read about it, don%26#39;t open a thread with the words ';kids'; and ';Vegas'; in the title. That%26#39;s the part I never understand, why do people take the time to post ';that it%26#39;s not worth posting about anymore';?

blayzn-Las Vegas is a city, not a night club. All are welcome there. I see no sign saying ';Welcome to Las Vegas-21 and older only.'; Just because there%26#39;s a lot of adult activity does not give any one the right to walk around acting disrespectful to others. Public drunkeness and ludeness is not legal in LV anymore than your home town.

Janet,

if you look closely at the Welcome to Vegas sign, there is small print at the bottom about 21+. LOL

There is a difference between my hometown and Vegas. You are allowed to have open containers on the strip, if you are walking, that%26#39;s why the vendors sell alcohol at the stands. They don%26#39;t do that in my hometown.

And I%26#39;m not being disrespectful by simply drinking.

Open containers are NOT legal on the strip and that is a fact.

HA keep dreaming!

Although I%26#39;m definatley anti-kids in Vegas for several reasons, I must admit, I%26#39;ve never had any negative circumstances with them there. I have more issues with adults. ie, drunks (except when I am), people who stop dead for no apparent reason while walking, people who wave their hands around like a mime on meth when I smoke, people who split 10%26#39;s and people who throw 7%26#39;s after the point.

Janet you make a valid point and in a warm and fuzzy world, your suggestion may work out, but if you think for a second that the debate will ever end on this forum.... I%26#39;d like to sell you some nice vacation property in south central Florida.
