Am I really that cheap?

OK, just wondering, you%26#39;re in Vegas, and want to spend $200-$300 on a room that you most probably won%26#39;t be staying in that long because you%26#39;ve travelled soooo far to gamble, show, dinner, etc.... Personnally I find that by the time we make it to the room we%26#39;re too pooped to enjoy the room. Is it only me.?

Am I really that cheap?

All down to opinions and circumstances. Recent trip with Mrs B stayed in Bellagio Deluxe Lakeview and worth every penny. My October trip with my buddies will see us staying at Bill%26#39;s for a fraction of the cost and we won%26#39;t care if we%26#39;re overlooking the dumpsters........ :-)

Am I really that cheap?

Nope, definitely not just you.

We sleep in our room, get ready in the mornings and then usually change before dinner. That%26#39;s the extent of time we spend in the room. We want a clean, good location and a good deal. We%26#39;ve stayed in rooms with nice amenities, i.e. widescreen tv, jacuzzi tub, etc... and we NEVER use them, well the TV will be on while we%26#39;re in there, but we%26#39;re certainly not hanging out to watch a specific show or anything.

Too much to see outside, I can watch TV and take a bath at home!

I can see the appeal of the amenities but I%26#39;m just to anxious to be out there doing something to sit in the room and enjoy them.

Maybe I need to learn to relax? LOL

No ~ we stayed in the Augustus tower in Caesars last year as we got married but next year we%26#39;ll stay at Ballys ~ Caesars was amazing but I would feel like I would have to spend more time in the room to get my moneys worth ~ Its bad enough having to pay £400+ ($800) to fly to vegas!

As long as the room is clean and not in dire need of renovation

cheaper room = more frozen mango margaritas!!! :-)

Nope not just you....but it depends on the circumstances with us.

I agree with blagger about the Bellagio, because we spent the night there in June and had a wonderful room overlooking the fountains. It was our 30th Anniversary, so we wanted something special.

Most of the time, we just want safe and clean...and I am a bargain bin shopper for hotel rates! LOL

I don%26#39;t do pools or spas and don%26#39;t really like to shop, and we go to Vegas to gamble and enjoy the time alone together. So...I don%26#39;t need an expensive room.

You will get lots of different replies (as usual) since we all have different likes and dislikes, but just do what you are comfortable doing and the decision will be right for you :)

I have to agree with the depends on circumstance. While my wife and I seem to be happy at Luxor, NYNY, Rio ect... Places where we usually get free or very discounted rooms.

My friend, with whom I also work can not stay in these places. Why, because his wife thinks if it is not Bellagio, Wynn, ect... it is below her status. So he gambles far less than he wants to and pays for the rooms.

We are staying at the Flamingo next month for 14 nights at an average rate of $99 a night. I%26#39;ll admit the rooms aren%26#39;t the greatest but the views are.

My mother spends most of the evening in the room with a Bloody Mary in her hand watching the fountains at the Bellagio and loving the view of Caesars etc. It is also great when you wake up just to see the Towers at Caesars.

There is also another advantage to staying at the Flamingo, you don%26#39;t have to look at it.

I prefer to have a nicer room and don%26#39;t mind spending the money. I usually get some great rates by doing research and with help from everyone on this forum. Having a nice room with great amenities is part of the vacation experience for me. I do spend some time in my room though. In my ';real'; world I am a mom of 2 young children, ages 4 %26amp; 6. So I don%26#39;t get a lot of time to myself. When I go to Vegas I like to be pampered. To me that is a nice room with a great bathroom, room service, and spa treatments. I do like to gamble a lot too : )

I see your point though. If I didn%26#39;t spend much time in my room I would consider it a huge waste of money to spend so much.

I agree with Ducky. unless it%26#39;s a special occasion..money saved on any clean safe room can be spent having FUN!

Gingerscott, we were at the Flamingo last year, May ,with 3 sisters+dh%26#39;s. We had the smoking room facing the fountains (beautiful room). But My sis had NON-smoking facing fountains. much nicer not dated. Again, we%26#39;re there to sleep, shower, dress== so it didn%26#39;t matter to us.

i think i have a somewhat different take on this:

I travel a lot for my work, and i usually stay at good hotels (W, Westin, etc.) but all the rooms inside these nice hotels are always the same standard rooms, nothing really different other than its in a nice location.

However, when I go to Vegas, I usually splurge and spend it on nicer rooms (usually good promo codes of course!) since the rooms are actually different! For instance, for what it would cost for me to spend ONE night in Boston at the Boston Marriott Long Whorf, I could get a nice suite at the MGM for 2+ nights, and since i%26#39;m on vacation, i do tend to use the amenities (jacuzzi, nice bed, big tv, etc.) so for me, while a room is still just a room, i like to have something different when i%26#39;m on vacation.

.....but i still understand those who prefer to spend their money on gambling and other stuff!
