Drinks outside

Ok, now I know I am going to sound like a geeker, but I was reading the Kids/Vegas post for a chuckle and read something about people walking around outside on the strip with open containers. Does that mean that you can have drinks outside of the establishments? And if it does do you have to have it inside of bags? (The hobo look is really not my style, LOL)

Thanks so very much!

Drinks outside

You can walk on the strip with drinks (no bags needed). Technically it is illegal but everyone does it. You will not be bothered unless you engage in some obnoxious behavior.

Drinks outside

as far as i know you can walk down the street with an open container.. you just can%26#39;t have them in a car

You CAN have open containers outside the establishments. You do NOT have to have it inside bags. Just don%26#39;t break any laws or jaywalk or expose yourself or anything, and you%26#39;ll probably be OK.

Have fun and happy drinking!

i believe that technically it%26#39;s not legal, but everyone does it. i think as long as you%26#39;re not drunk %26amp; disorderly, the police don%26#39;t bother doing anything about it.

that%26#39;s one of the best things i like about vegas...being able to go just about anywhere with an open bottle or drink in your hand. :)))

People pretty much walk the strip open beverages in hand. In fact, those big, yard long ones make great traveling containers for the long haul. No bag needed. As long as you%26#39;re on the strip it%26#39;s ok, practically mandatory!

State law renders public intoxication legal, and explicitly prohibits any local or state law from making it a public offense.

';NRS 458.260 Intoxication not public offense; exceptions.

1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2, the use of alcohol, the status of drunkard and the fact of being found in an intoxicated condition are not:

(a) Public offenses and shall not be so treated in any ordinance or resolution of a county, city or town.

(b) Elements of an offense giving rise to a criminal penalty or civil sanction.';

Source: Nevada Revised Statutes: Chapter 458, Section 260

(Of course, drunken driving is the exception provided for in ';subsection 2';).

We have walked out of the casino with our drinks in our hand and security not saying a word about it. It%26#39;s like it isn%26#39;t any big deal, I was sure that would say something about the glass, they didn%26#39;t.. Vegas is real cool about this and it is nice to have a drink as you are walking to the next casino.

thanks sister.. that%26#39;s what i was trying to find...

Vegas is sounding way more fun and way more scary by the minute!

You got it, Jubilees! Why do you think we%26#39;re all addicted?!
