8/5-8/8 trip plans

Thanks to everyone for the entertaining and informative posts this past month. I use trip advisor before most of my trips but this is my first major post. Many here enjoy the anticipation of the trip so much I had to share my plans and excitement! I%26#39;ll post after we get back with more details.

This will be my third trip and second for my husband.

We booked a great deal at the Luxor, tower room, which includes a dining credit, spa entrance and discount, imax discount, etc. They seem to run some great packages there. We were there two christmas breaks ago with a similar deal but never used the spa passes.

We%26#39;ll arrive Sunday by car--we%26#39;re travelling along the mother road and will leave tomorrow making lots of cheesy/fun stops. My husband is planning those parts of the trip and I%26#39;m in ';charge'; of Vegas.

The day we arrive we plan to relax--long drive and all!--grab some food most likely from the food court and use our 2 for 1 IMAX tickets. They have a 3-D Under the Sea show narrated by Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet (two of my favorites!). We love movies and air conditioning so that will be a treat. Wil probably walk through the connection to Mandalay Bay--didn%26#39;t explore over there much last time. We%26#39;ll also play around in the casino a bit--slots, mainly video poker, and I MAY try craps. I%26#39;ve never played table games and am intimidated--don%26#39;t want to be annoying or get tackled by security for a mistake (just watched a mini-marathon of vegas shows on Travel Channel, lol). But I found a good website that explained basic rules and I think I could hang especially after watching for a bit.

question--I%26#39;ve read different opinions--how annoying are newbies at the tables? I thought craps would be a good place to start? Can you watch table games for a bit or is that condidered tacky? Don%26#39;t have a lot of casino experience!

Next morning we%26#39;ll order room service breakfast--the only other time I%26#39;ve done this was our last time in vegas and I LOVED the experience. That is my high roller moment as we usually don%26#39;t stay at places that offer the option.

That night we will use our dining credit at the Luxor Steakhouse--we enjoyed it last time and have read good reviews here. I%26#39;d love to hear yours if you%26#39;ve eaten there!

We have reserved tickets to LOVE at the mirage at 10pm. We plan to valet our car at Wynn (will explain about that later) and walk down to Mirage and after the show do a ';crawl'; back down to luxor taking in the sights of the strip at night, stopping to play, get drinks, people watch, etc. I%26#39;ve never been to Circus and want to try the merry-go-round bar (love the movie fear and loathing, ahhh Johnny!) Anyone been to it?

Next morning sleep in(!) and either order in or grab a muffin etc. Thinking about going to the spa this day. (I%26#39;m also planning to suprise my husband with an hour at Art of the Shave so will have to figure out when to sneak that in. That night we have a package deal to have dinner and show-Spamalot-at Wynn. We chose the buffet option because we have to eat at a buffet at least once while there ; ) and this seems like the king! I%26#39;m looking forward to crab legs and trying duck for the first time. Our tickets are at 8 so we%26#39;ll get there in time to pick up our tickets, eat and explore a bit. I%26#39;ve never been inside and am looking forward to the visit. If you haven%26#39;t noticed by now I%26#39;m a bit of a planner so I%26#39;m still trying to figure out how to time things (the spa, the cab ride to Wynn, etc.) so we have plenty of time. I think it hinges on what time we wake up after the crawl!

Question--In your opinion, would it hurt to ask for line passes to the buffet since we want to make a show in the casino? Odds of this happening?

We%26#39;ll have our car after the show because we parked it the night before. It%26#39;s our last night so we%26#39;ll leave it open but have a long drive back so won%26#39;t get too crazy!?

Melly....too bad you%26#39;re going to Spamalot on Tuesday.....we%26#39;re having our M %26amp; G that evening!!

Hope you have a fun trip....We%26#39;ll be seeing LOVE for the second time on Monday night...you guys will like it....it%26#39;s a great show!!

Try playing your table games in the morning when things are less crowded! Let people know you%26#39;re new, and they%26#39;ll help you out. Some casinos also offer free lessons in the morning if you want to try that! =)

We need a M%26amp;G at Love. We will be there at 10 also.

We should have an ';in between LOVE'; M %26amp; G....MadokaRN and I will be both be at the earlier show on Monday!! =)

CO...LOL, did you see my post on stalkers and how we will be running into each other the whole trip. I agree that we should just go ahead and plan a meet and greet every day that we are in Vegas. I sure hope that we like each other...otherwise, we are gonna be hating on each other at the official M%26amp;G. LMAO!!!

I am down for a third M%26amp;G between shows of LOVE!!

Madoka...I haven%26#39;t seen that yet....which thread is it on? The M %26amp; G one? Hee hee.....I know we%26#39;re going to like each other....especially because it seems like we%26#39;re doing many of the same things so that%26#39;s a good sign! =) LOL....we%26#39;ll have to buy disguises if we don%26#39;t! =)

We should make a designated meeting spot after the show in case damama and Melly are there early for theirs we can say hi...I know it%26#39;s really crazy right around the show area itself when things are done. Hmmm....how about we stand in front of the ';R'; on the Revolution lounge sign (on the outside towards the casino)?

I can remember the R - this should be a hoot.
