Good Beer v2 - bottled?

So, being used to the darker beers over here in the UK (as opposed to lager), what do you suggest we request from the cocktail waitress to get a good beer when in Vegas?

I%26#39;m assuming that our selection is restricted to bottles (not draft), but feel free to correct me on this.

PS - if it helps - will be in the MGM to Venetian area of the strip, not downtown. Thought I%26#39;d mention it. Beer could be better downtown but I won%26#39;t be there to find out!

Alot of the casinos now have either Sierra Nevada (Chico, CA) or Fat Tire (Ft. Collins, CO) available from the cocktail waitresses while you play. Both are very good microbrews which over the years have grown bigger than most of the US microbreweries.

Thanks Goodbeer! Fat Tire looks promising (although it might result in an even fatter tire around my midriff ...)

Any other suggestions also gratefully received.

Try the Monte Carlo Pub and Brewey for some good micro brews.

Goodbeer - are these beers lager, stout or ale? I am an ale/stout drinker myself and was worked I would have nothing to drink in vegas/US other than bud %26amp; miller! Don%26#39;t get me wrong, it%26#39;s not just american lager I dislike, Carling, Harp %26amp; Fosters are equally as poor over here! I like the sound of these micro breweries...

Nevada 2007 - I am also in vegas in 5 weeks (part of our honeymoon), see you at the bar!

Shearny, if you%26#39;re on honeymoon, I would suggest you don%26#39;t plan to spend TOO much time at the bar ... unless your fiancee is also into drinking good beer!

Luckily my DH shares my taste for good beer. So we%26#39;ll be celebrating our 10th anniversary in Vegas - hopefully over a good pint or two - looking forward to trying Fat Tire as I%26#39;ve never heard of it before. (Sierra Nevada we can get over here in the Co%26#39; )

Funny you should mention the CAMRA beer festival, I took her to one in essex (chelmsford) 2 weeks ago!! Some great porters %26amp;she was happy enough drinking the cider %26amp; perry so not too bad!!

Fat tire - must keep an eye out for that one then...
