All I seem to read here and elsewhere is that the casinos are smokey. YUK ! Surely there must be non smokers who like a gamble. Where do you go if you don%26#39;t want to inhale other people%26#39;s smoke nor have to wash your clothes and hair on leaving?
no smoking casinos
I didn%26#39;t find the Palms to be smoky at all, between the high ceilings and hardwood floors.
no smoking casinos
Many non-smokers light up when drinking and gambling. I know this to be fact, but the answer to your question is no. Some casinos have non-smoking areas, but smoking is allowed and legal in every casino on the Strip and Downtown.
Like I%26#39;ve said many times before, if peoples habits and behaviors bother you, Vegas should be the last place on your list of places to visit. It isn%26#39;t called Sin City for nothing.
And why wouldn%26#39;t you be showering daily anyway? You Brits must do things a little differenlty than we do here in the U.S. To each his own I guess.
The casinos are doing a MUCH better job than they used to. When we first started going to Vegas (10 years ago) we always had to buy a bottle of Febreeze to spray down our clothes at night just so the whole room didn%26#39;t reek of smoke. The thought of wearing something a second time was nauseating. We even had to spray the inside of the rental car it was so bad. I would shower before going to bed to get the smell out of my hair.
On our last trip in June we didn%26#39;t need Febreeze at all and could even re-wear jeans. It%26#39;s not at all like it used to be. You%26#39;ll be fine, you%26#39;ll notice it somewhat form time to time, but it%26#39;s really not that bad anymore.
There are no casinos that are non-smoking. Some have small areas called ';non-smoking area'; with some slot machines, and few tables are non-smoking tables.
However, most new casinos have really high ceilings, and the air conditioning is set to so many air changes per hour, that you won%26#39;t feel the smoke as much as in older casinos
You are SOL because all casinos allow smoking.
Non-tribal casinos in California are non-smoking.
Thanks for the helpful answers. Maxjack yours was particularly reassuring. I don%26#39;t know what ';sol'; means whoever said that in their answer, is it an acronym?
Of course we shower/ bath daily but I don%26#39;t wash my hair daily -shock horror!!!
Oh yes we are bringing a 7 and 11 yo with us just to annoy you all even more.
Seriously, we will be in Vegas for 3 days and on one of those we will be seeing the amazing scenery. We will also be visiting Boston and NYC (again)- which my son prefers to Orlando.
I can%26#39;t help but think (especially given your screen name) that you are one of these people who judges everyone while you feel you are, well, snowwhite.
Just remember that people choose their holiday destinations based on what they think will make them happy and in Vegas that means for many; drinking, smoking, gambling, overeating, going to strip clubs and staying out all night doing things they don%26#39;t do at home. So if any of these things offend you, I suggest trying many of the other wonderful destinations we offer here in the US and avoiding Las Vegas.
Complaining about smoking and second hand smoke won%26#39;t change any of this.
';SOL';- (synonym for Pooh) Out of Luck. Snow, you%26#39;ll be pleased to know that Nevada recently outlawed smoking in places that serve food, so your exposure will limited to just in the casinos. I have found non-smoking areas to be severely limited to non-existent when it comes to slots. I%26#39;ve seen some tables in the MGM that had a non-smoking sign posted, but no players or dealers there! Smoking just comes with the territory there. Unless they%26#39;re huffing and puffing into my face, I can live with it. Avoid older, smaller casinos with low ceilings and poor ventilation and you should be fine.
