Our cheap food challenge

This was a trip in April but my spouse and I had planned a trip and being fans of both Las Vegas Advisor and American Casino Guide decided to do a coupon run.

We are older and finacially stable so we did this just for fun. The following is from notes we keep to see exactly what we had spent on food.

I will give you the brief day by day with the details as best I can.

I%26#39;ll post below.

Our cheap food challenge

Wow! It reviewing this info I just decided that I will look really cheap! LOL.

Well, no matter, here goes.

It was a late flight in so on the way to the airport we stpped at a Burger King for two sandwiches and two cokes. I had coupons for each free. We added one order of ries for a total of $1.37 for two!

We arrived late because the flight was delayed. We pick up the rental car. Then we head for the taco shop on Trop near Maryland. It is a hole in the wall with great tortas and rolled tacos. Not terribly hungry so husband has an order of rolled tacos and I have a steak torta and we share a large diet coke. Total $6.37

Drive to Albertson%26#39;s pick up water, diet coke, coffee, cream, bagels and cream cheese, fresh fruit and juice. This in case we want a health snack or don%26#39;t feel like going out. This trip we are staying in out timeshare at Hilton Grand Vacation Club next to the Hilton on Karen Ave.

Total for supplies $18.06

Our cheap food challenge

ok shrink....are you going to do Vegas on less than $40 a day? LOL

I hear Rachel Ray saying YummOH in my heady Ducky.

Day two

Coffee and juice for husband while he soaks in the jetted tub. I go for a swim and come back for coffee, juice in the tub. We share conversation over more coffee, fruit, and a bagel.

We tend to start slow and use LV time to unwind. It is very differnt than what many want to do with their time but it works for us.

We go to the Hilton for Brunch and it is Sunday so they have their smallish selection but they are also carving both brisket and prime rib and they have crab legs. We have a meal of mostly Prime, crab, and their large pre-peeled cold shrimp, salad, dessert and a drink. Using the coupon they gave use at check-in from the HGV we get the buffet for $16.00 for the two of us including a good tip for the wait staff.

Gambling, running around, spa service at Orleans.

We see that Orleans is having a special where if you use your points to pay for a buffet you get 75% off the price. Too good to pass up. We have the buffet for dinner using only points. Cash spent for dinner $0.

I guess I%26#39;ll add that we had comp show tickets for Joe Piscapo (sorry about the spelling) at the Hilton from a Hilton newletter. We went to the show which was really pretty good. Using the Hilton coupons from check in we had a 2/1 drink. Cost of the entertainment and drinks with tip $12.00

Ohhhhh....this is going to be really cheapo days in Vegas!

LOL,

Ducky and catburd!

It kind of turns out that way. I have been reading so much about budget trips recently I thought this might help someone.

Onward!

Looks like cheapovegas.com just got punked.....................lol lol

End of the day

Day Four- Thursday

Started early because we were looking at some property outside of LV. still started with the swim coffee and jucie but saved room for Hash House A-Go Go.

Using a certificate from Restaurants.com Husband had some fried chicken and I had a giant salad and we each had Iced Tea .It was way too much food but good. Total for us with the certificate was still

$27.00 with tip.

Play, play, play.
