Just back from MGM -- specific slots/other slot thoughts

Hi,

Just back from MGM this morning on red eye..and found a couple of looser slots. I%26#39;ll describe them best I can:

a) Quarter Wheel of Fortune. There are only a few. These are on a wall opposite Crazy Horse Show....blackjack tables in between. If you%26#39;re heading from the grand tower elevators to the lion habitat, these are on your left. We had the most luck with the third one from the right. Hit lots of hefty combos and turned in a 1000 spin.

b) Quarter Wheel of Gold. This is tougher to describe, but worth finding. It%26#39;s on the other side of the main aisle leading from the grand tower elevators to the lion habitat. Past the Crazy Horse and on your right. There is a large area of slots. There are several groups of slots clustered around polls. Find the Wheel of Gold. There are two machines on each side of poll. OK. Now find the two that, when you%26#39;re sitting at them, your back is to the men%26#39;s restroom (which is about 200 feet away). You will be facing the poll, of course, but if it wasn%26#39;t there, you%26#39;d be looking at the table games and people walking to the lion habitat. OK, if you%26#39;re still with me, play the machine on the right. It was a consistent hitter...with spins of 100 and 200 and all sorts of combos that boosted winnings enough to move to dollar slots.

c) Wheel of Fortune 50 cent. Same general area as quarter Wheel of Gold mentioned above. These are on the wall next to men%26#39;s and women%26#39;s bathrooms...to the left of the bathrooms. There are about a half dozen. If you%26#39;re facing the wall looking at them, play the second in from the right. Also consistent. Hit 1000 and lots of combos to extend play until you can hit something larger.

A couple of thoughts: Worth staking out machines at MGM. We didn%26#39;t see lots of winners, but we did see winners at specific machines, including those listed above. Stand back, watch others...then play. Also look for hardcore Vegas types. Most know where not to waste money.

Drink service hit and miss at slots. Twice drinks never came after ordered and that was even with consistent tipping of $1 or $2 per drink. For a sure bet, head to the long bar near gaming tables and Crazy Horse. Pop a $20 (minimum) into video game (which offers 25-cent black jack, poker, keno, etc)...and get a free drink. Fred makes an excellent margarita. Before playing slots, I%26#39;d often stop for a drink...a few games of video black jack...and then move on.

We didn%26#39;t have a lot of luck with $1 Lion slots...but we watched someone who did. There%26#39;s a main area near the elevators in the grand tower. If you%26#39;re facing the elevator lobby, he played machines to the left of the aisle. He started about 6 machines from the right. We watched him hit a jackpot (not progressive, but 300 or more coins)...and then move to the machine to his left and do it all over again. We saw him hit five machines. Drink service was most inconsistent in this area...

Did you play any video slots at all or just reels? Did you see any Top Gun slots or Monte Python? Thanks for an update on one of my favorite casinos!

We usually don%26#39;t play video reel slots...We did put a couple of $20s into some Indiana Jones nickels that people seemed to really like...but didn%26#39;t really do anything. These have spin reels like wheel of fortune...
