ny ny or the monte'

comming to vegas in early dec. found a few good deals -if you had to choose between the monte%26#39; and ny ny-which one would you pick.

i am not so concerned about the construction noise as being able to get around in the general area. ny ny is 10 bucks more than the monte%26#39; -is it worth it.? HELP!!!

ny ny or the monte'

Hi vegas,

Have stayed at both hotels more than once and it depends.

If you are younger and going with a younger crowd go for NYNY, although I have had a great time in the casino with my friends of 50 or more. The regular rooms are some what small but fine.

Monte Carlo is a smaller casino with a great pool and some less expensive eating establishments. The rooms are about the same size as NYNY. The casino is quieter and smaaller but still a lot of fun.

Hope this helps.

zbeth-if you had to choose for ';all around best'; which one? also did you use valet or self park at either place?and we are early 40%26#39;s and fun, easygoing peeps.

Vegas,

Monte Carlo for all around best.

There is valet parking at Monte Carlo and self parking.

If you do decide to go to NYNY don%26#39;t use their spa. I actually got bruised by a massage therapist but I really like the spa at MC. It%26#39;s smaller than some but their prices are reasonable.

I am not sure about the construction noise as we stayed at Mirage (comped rooms) in June. Hopefully, you will get feedback by people who have stayed at MC recently.

zbeth-thanks again -and thanks for the heads up on the spa-as that is always a stop for me.

Having stayed at both, I think I prefer the Monte. Both are very nice however. Pool won%26#39;t make a difference as they are probably both closed in December. Like Monte Spa very much.

';There is valet parking at Monte Carlo and self parking.';

Uhh, zbeth, this is not entirely accurate. The old self-park garage at MC was knocked down and a new, much larger one is taking its place but not nearly done yet. Guests at MC only have the option of NYNY if they insist on self-parking. The MC has multiple construction issues. I have stayed at both, and despite the random psycho in a trenchcoat at NYNY, I would opt for NYNY over MC at this point and in the next 2 years or so. Just my 2c. And for me, NYNY would only be after the MGM kicked me out, lol. Of the three, I prefer the MGM, but that%26#39;s already known to many on this forum!

thanks for the update strip cruiser, when I stayed there last MC had both. It%26#39;s always best to get latest info although I still enjoy MC over NYNY, in my humble opinion.

The MC is also building this rather garish Mexican restaurant on the front entrance. Maybe it%26#39;s just me, but Mexican food and the French Riviera....am I missing something? Themes are being abandoned in droves, it seems. it just doesn%26#39;t fit. You can see a picture of it on vegastodayandtomorrow.com

thanks for the info strip cruzer-i haven%26#39;t seen a good price for mgm-so it might end up being nyny. but i am open to any good offers.

also you said the pools will be closed in december??what is up with that? what is the average temp in early december? all pools in vegas?we are comming from the real ny and wanted a little color to go back with.

Stayed at both and enjoyed both but the atmosphere in my opinion was better at NY NY. Better casino and better nightlife.
