TR 7/24-7/28 Flamingo, Stuidio 54, Olives

Flamingo regular room- loved it. Hotel is clean and nice, fun atmosphere, good casino, wonderful pool.

Slots O Fun $.99 hotdog- OMG is that thing HUGE! Definitely worth the cheapo experience of going there.

Mermaids fried oreos- pretty good, twinkie- wasn%26#39;t spectacular. Doubt I%26#39;d get them again.

Studio 54 on Tuesday- GREAT club! All ages, types- great music, room to dance. Very fun!

Olives at Bellagio, patio seating. Had GIANT scallops and a bellini- great food and drink! Service just okay. Would definitely eat there again.

Lenotre at Paris for dessert. Had some chocolate mousse thing and it was to die for! Friend had a strawberry cake thingy and it was also amazing!

Purple Reign at Monte Carlo- this guy could pull off charging $200 a ticket as Prince, and I bet 99.9% of people wouldn%26#39;t know the difference! GREAT show at the Brew Pub!

Big Elvis- not what we expected, but a fun show! He has lost 450lbs in the past two years and has 250 to go!

Social House at TI for sushi. Great food, okay service, interesting atmosphere. More of a romatic place to dine.

Tao on Thursday- jam packed, just ';okay'; DJ, very little dancing. Great looking place, but wouldn%26#39;t care if I never went back!

Spice Market Buffet at PH was a total disappointment. Food was cold, little variety (Asia section had like 4 types of rice and one meat dish) at each stand, and the food was pretty bland. Won%26#39;t be going there again.

PURE on Friday- long line (over an hour), even with table reservation. They overbook tables and if you have a smaller party, as I did (made reservations a month in advance), you%26#39;re out of luck. They give the tables to the bigger parties so they can make more money. VERY ticked about this, as we were looking forward to our table. Even though we reserved a table and didn%26#39;t get one, and stood in line an hour only to DISCOVER we weren%26#39;t getting a table, they still tried to charge us cover! Since we ';know someone,'; we got in free. Wouldn%26#39;t even buy a drink there since we were ticked off. Club was packed, of course, but DJ AM and DJ Hollywood are great. Jaime Pressley%26#39;s bday at PCD Lounge, and it was invite only. Still got to see her, as well as Chris Tucker. Sat at a patio table with some guys we met and it was nice. Guess we need a table for 10 next time, if we want service. VERY disappointed with the club after this experience. Second time going, and this time I was very put off by them!

Tropicana had the loosest slots for us- won several hundred there.

Did well gambling at Flamingo, but when Friday came, I didn%26#39;t hit ONCE. No more weekend gambling for me!

Okay, what%26#39;s the point of reserving a table if you don%26#39;t get a table...to me that%26#39;s just BS. If you%26#39;re not giving people what they reserve, then don%26#39;t tell them they reserved a table!!!

Sounds like the rest of your trip was great!

I%26#39;m still a little ticked that I didn%26#39;t get to the MC for Prince tribute last month because a certain machine kept paying off....

My good buddy StripCruiser always says Trop is good to him....will have to give it a try next trip....

Yep, I was furious about that table BS. I even text messaged my ';host'; while there, and he replied that he would come talk to me. After another ';where are you?'; text, I gave up. I could%26#39;ve planned a nicer evening at another club, had I known.

You HAVE to see Purple Reign next time- AMAZING!

That IS bs about the club. I don%26#39;t blame you for being put off. Thanks for the info about the Tropicana slots. That and the MGM is where we will be doing most of our playing. Hope the slots are loose for me as well.

Glad to hear you liked your std room at the Flamingo. I have one booked and wondered if I needed to try for a GO room when checking in. Any problems with finding a seat at the pool?

This year was much better at the pool than last year. Pool opens at 8. I would wake up at 7, go get towels and put them on our chairs, then go to breakfast. The pool wasn%26#39;t PACKED, but it was busy. Stayed T-Sat but I bet the weekends are busier. I wouldn%26#39;t suggest getting to the pool at noon, though- might be hard to get a spot. If there are only two of you, it would be easier. We just favor the front row of the back section, so had to make sure we got there on time!

I walked into the Trop, put $2 (and I never put less than a 20 into slots) into the first big machine I saw, and won almost $300! Then went to the back, to the ';Hot Slots'; room, and kept winning on Monopoly. Then the Blazing 7%26#39;s with the 4 rows- kept hitting 3 7%26#39;s on that one! All of these are quarter slots, played max. DEFINITELY will spend most of my gambling there in the future!

Oh, check into Flamingo at the airport- soo much easier. Even took the shuttle there for $5.50- no stops besides hotel.

Great trip review ... sounds like you had a lot of fun. I would have been totally annoyed with Pure also. What%26#39;s the poiny of taking reservations if it doesn%26#39;t guarentee you anything?

Thanks for the report. Sorry about Pure, I wanted to go there just to check it out but it doesn%26#39;t sound like it%26#39;s worth the hassle, maybe I%26#39;ll just go to Studio 54 instead. Can you give me any info on the Purple Reign show? Is it only on Sundays?

I think Purple Reign is only at House of Blues on Sunday. We went on Wednesday for the 10:00 showing at MC. There is a second showing at midnight. When we got there just around 9, we were told seating was only for dinner. So we went, had a couple of drinks, ordered nachos, and then the server said the kitchen was closing. So we didn%26#39;t have to fake it any longer! I think if you google it, you can get more info. But I do believe they perform a few days during the week there. Afterwards, ';Prince'; walks around and you can get pics of/with him.

And Pure is a really cool club- great music. It definitely is a pick-n-choose place. And you wait a LONG time to get in. Usually you can see the PCD perform while there, but since there was a celeb invite-only party, you could only glance through the glass. Studio 54 is definitely more relaxed and fun, that%26#39;s for sure!

Great TR! You have me worried about the ';weekend'; statement, though. I%26#39;ve always gone Sun. - Thurs. and most always have good luck on the slots.

I had heard that slots get tighter on weekends. Ugh! I%26#39;ll be going Labor Day Weekend Fri. - Tues. and hope the slots aren%26#39;t too tight!
