As I previously reported%26#39; my husband will be joining me for my next trip. He loves live music since he is by his own words a garage guitar band with his buddies. Is there some place on the strip or close by that we can walk to and hear some rock and roll or blues or jazz live or anything decent? I have researched the forum search buttons but I keep getting older posts.
Thanks in advance to the lovers of live music out there!
Live Bands? this might be for locals or frequent visitors
Carnival Court at Harrah%26#39;s. I have seen a group called the Garage Boys(no kidding), Wonderbooogie(great 70%26#39;s group) and Lefty Lucy(rock n roll %26amp; country). The acts are free and bud drafts are just 4 bucks! No minimum and a great party atmosphere..at Least I think so.
Good Luck.

Thanks sunburst. I have heard about Carnival Court but was not sure if if was too crazy where you could not get a seat and enjoy the band.
When I copied what you wrote onto my Vegas Tips document is pasted at a font size of 54. This has never happened before so maybe it is a sign.

The sand dollar blues lounge looks VERY promising. I think he would love that place.
Thank you so much.
I wish there were more live bands but I know it is all about keeping us inside gambling.
Once you get to Vegas- try to get a copy of Las Vegas Weekly. It is more of a local magazine. It will list different kinds of music for that week- blues/jazz, rock, bands that are playing and where. They do have a website but it is not as useful.
catburd,
Will you have a car? If so try Chrome at the Santa Fe. They have blues at no cover one night a week and it is often very, very, good touring bands or solo artists. Go to the staions website to see who is there when you are there.
NY NY had live cover bands in their casino bar (south side of the property) on both nights I visited the casino last week. They were very good too. I want to say they were there from 7 - 730 to 9. You can call to see if this is a daily occurrance. I am not sure.
Unfortunately or Fortunately we will not have a car. It will be hoofing it or cabbing it.
I also agree with Carnival Bar at Harrah%26#39;s. I see bands there everytime I go to Vegas. It is one of the funnest bars in Vegas!
thanks we will check canival bar out it it is not too crazy.
