Nearby Laundromat??

Staying at the Flamingo for a week (Aug 22-29) and do not want to bring 25 sets of clothes. Hotel offers a laundry ';service'; which means beaucoup bucks - as I have found from other hotels. Would rather bring 1/2 the amount of clothes and spend 1 hour at the laundry. The hotel did not know of any nearby - as I am sure they would have preferred me to use the service..

Does anyone know of a lundromat near the Flamingo??

Nearby Laundromat??

WOW savvykat - that%26#39;s alot of clothes to bring for a week (25 sets?). I%26#39;m not sure what your plans are, but when I%26#39;m in Vegas, we usually go to breakfast in just a t-shirt and shorts, spend the day at the pool in my swim suit, then dress or skirt and top for dinner.

Or are you packing for 5 people???

You can wear the same thing more than once, unless the trip is work related - no one but you will know that you%26#39;ve worn the outfit before.

Good Luck!

Nearby Laundromat??

OK, 25 sets MAY be a bit exaggerated... It%26#39;s just my husband and I. We do alot of walking around during the day and then go out at night - so we%26#39;ll change before going out. Yeah, some of those days will be at the pool, but we LOVE to go walking around. Last year we stayed at a friend%26#39;s timeshare which had a washer and dryer - so we packed lighter and washed the ';favorite'; clothes.

I can get away with waring the same shorts 2x but not shirts and undies! LOL!

Savvy - just turn the undies inside out - get 2 days for the price of 1 - ROFLMAO !!!!!

Wow, I thought I packed a lot =-) I%26#39;m notorius within my family for having a suitcase to heavy to lift.

There are such cute dresses this season that are great for walking around in the daytime. They%26#39;re lightweight, cool (very important), and pack without taking up much room. You can get 4 of those in the same suitcase space that a pair of jeans takes up. Also, try rolling items, takes up less room. Like was previously stated, you can wear an item twice, who%26#39;ll know. (Carry a tide pen in your purse, removes any stain immediately and saves the outfit)

Also, I pack a tiny bottle of woolite and if I need to rewear something, I can handwash in the sink and hang to dry overnight. If you rewear the day clothes, you%26#39;ll have more room for evening Veags clothes, and you won%26#39;t have to lose any time to the laundry. (it%26#39;s vacation, you can do laundry at home. have fun there)

Good Luck.

No dresses for me! The last one I wore was my wedding dress! hahaha!

Rolling definately saves room in the suitcase! I DO have this one HUGE suitcase that we call ';the midget smuggler'; but I get terrible looks from the cab / limo / airport people that have to heist it into the car / luggage terminal, etc. Brought it when we got married (in Vegas 2004) to hold all of the stuff. It was a bit of a pain so now I only use it when I have to.

Bring the woolite is a good idea. My husband once washed out some tshirts and hung to dry all nite but complained about the wrinkles and the Stiff ';hotel soap'; feeling.. Whatta dork. This is the same man who wears jeans in Vegas.. Shorts, man - shorts!!

I know it%26#39;s vacation and I shouldn%26#39;t be doing chores - I guess I am just anal-retentive that way! I%26#39;d still rather opt for less luggage and spend an hour at a coin-op...

Will you have a car? Suds and Duds does have a pick up service. It is 90 cents a pound- 10 pound minimum plus $8/9 pick up and delivery fee.

Besides Duds and Suds there is one on Arville off of Flamingo:

Wizard of Suds

(702) 873-1453

4265 Arville St

Las Vegas, NV 89103

They are open 24 hours a day and they have a deli/cafe where you can have a bite to eat. They also have VP machines inside the deli.

I%26#39;m staying at the Flamingo hotel and don%26#39;t want to have to go very far - something within a 2 block radius that I could take a short cab ride to would work - don%26#39;t think I want to walk it - haha!

Could you tell me where that is in relation to the hotel - other than the actual address?

Across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino there is a small place that does fluff and fold. You drop your clothes off, and if it%26#39;s early enough, they can even be ready the same day. It is about 90 cents per pound.

How do you get there? If you venture south next to Planet Hollywood, at the Harley Davidson Cafe, there is a free shuttle that will take you to the Hard Rock, and then you just walk across the street. (otherwise, it%26#39;s about an 8:00 cab ride from Flamingo.)

That would be my recommendation. I have used them before, and they do a great job. besides...who wants to do laundry when your on vacation...let someone else do it!!
