The best way?

What are the best and cheapest way to book a Las Vegas trip?Should I try the hotel and air separately or can someone suggest a website (credible) that they have used?

Tried getting airfare and hotel for October at the Rio and the Luxor and couldn%26#39;t get anything cheaper that $2,000 for 2 people, airfare and hotel. All suggestions welcomed!

The best way?

Must be some big conventions in town then that have driven the rates up. Usually, it is best to book air and hotel seperately but if you are getting those kinds or rates, go ahead and check sites like Orbitz, Expedia or travelocity.

The best way?

hotel and air sep. these travel companys all have to make a buck. go direct to airline and then direct to hotel you want to stay at.

October is high in Vegas.

I checked Rio and they want $340 for a weekend night.

I paid $59.00 per night for Ballys in April, but the rooms are going for $169.00 in October, so I am staying off strip in October.

I would book hotel directly with hotel. This way if you cancel you will bet your money back.

Also I always booked directly with airline too.

The cheapest places I see in October are off strip, try the Orleans and Gold Coast. Go to their website, click on hotel, then packages. They both have weekday specials and the weekends for October are around $140. Both hotels have a free shuttle to strip.

';All suggestions welcomed!';

Plan your trip for another time of the year.

Vegas is really cheap late November and most of December.

You probably can cut that price in half if you plan correctly.

If you don%26#39;t mind satying at a new place but just off the strip behind Mandalay Bay---Courtyard by Marriott can be had at a great rate with some added incentives ($100 rewards bucks). If you have a Visa credit card, go to the Visa website (Visausa.com ??) and look under ';discounts';

What dates are you traveling and out of what airport? 2k for a week that time of year isn%26#39;t unheard of. You may be able to do better by watching for deals on airfare. I%26#39;m not sure how many specials you will find on rooms in October.

Every trip, I check the cost of hotel/air together either from the airline, the hotel, or a site like expedia....and every time end up geting a better deal booking seperately from the airline (Southwest usually) and the hotel website.

This year we are at the Monte Carlo 10/24 to 10/30. Cost a bit over 1000.00 bucks for 6 nights (that is with taxes etc). It%26#39;s all the Halloween Parties that draw that weekend plus other events too.

Check each way. Direct thru airline and hotel, vacation packages thru an airline, travel sites such as expedia etc. Normally it is cheaper to book each seperately with airline and hotel, once in a while I have had to go with a travel site at considerable savings.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I am going to try booking separately and see what I get. If that doesn%26#39;t work then I will try booking for November. Vegas is not cheap like it used to be!
