What is a slot tournament?

Or I guess I should ask how exactly does one work? I got invited to one at MGM, 3 nights comp plus food and was wondering if it was worth it. I enjoy slot machines, but on my own. Never been or even seen a tournament. Can someone explain how it works?

The casino will load the machine with credits and you will have to play all of the credits. Highest total wins 1st place and so on.

The credits are not for you to keep. If you do well enough, you will place in the money.

In the tournament I was just in ...

1st place paid 6K

2nd place paid 3K

3rd place paid 1.5K

and so on and so on.

I didn%26#39;t place in the money, but I did receive a $20 slot credit.

I got invited to one at Bellagio for early Sept..money for the first 3 places, the other places receive free play vs cash, gets you coming back to their hotel that way! They%26#39;ll do anything to get our money! Free tourney, free room..........but while there you are also expected to gamble and spend money.....so free isn%26#39;t so free afterall!

how do you get invited to a slot tournament?

You must join a casinos players card club and then simply gamble. If you meet their criteria to be invited, you%26#39;ll recieve invitations in the mail.

The tounament invite has prizes for all the different prizes for each place. Seems like it could be worth my while!!

My main questions are the times of the tourn. are like 9-4 on Fri and 9-12 on Sat.. how long are you really sitting in front of your machine?
