No place to put coins in slot machines????

Just wondering what happened to the slot machines that you can only put in bills instead of coins? We did go to The Cannery in North Las Vegas and they had the slot machines where you could put coins in, but the strip slot machines have been updated or something. Do they make more money that way? I missed being able to just walk by and slip a quarter in to see what happens!

There are some nickel video poker games at the Sahara.

Oh, and there also used to be a FEW at Luxor that took quarters, but I%26#39;m not sure if they%26#39;re still there. Probably will at least be gone after the remodel.

The ticket in ticket out system has been in effect for quite some time now. The last I saw of coins machines were at some of the downtown casinos. Mermaids downtown has them and there are still some on the second floor of Sam%26#39;s Town on Boulder Hwy. Once you get used to the ticket sytems, you won%26#39;t want to go back to those nasty coins.

I know I heard lots of coins dropping at Binions last weekend.

La Bayou has coin spewing machines.

Thats where I enjoy playing. I will be back playing there in 9 days. Coin dispensing machines need more maintenance then bill accepting machines and requires a lot more labor, as they require being refilled throughout the day.

I thought I would hate the tickets but I like it so much better than coins. You can still do what you wanted, just print out the ticket after one spin, might take a drop longer to stick the ticket in %26amp; then cash out but still the same effect.

I think the real answer is that when your trip is over and you are back at home you find a voucher you forgot to redeem that expires in 30 days and now this is more money for the casinos because you won%26#39;t be back to cash it!!!!!!!!

The OP was questioning whether the machines accepted coins, not whether they paid in coins. While TITO has been around for a while now, until recently you still feed machines in coins as opposed to paper currency. For a while there were a lot of machines that took either, coins or paper, and only paid in TITO. Now they seem to have completed the conversion to all coinless slots. It makes it easier for the casinos to do accounting without all the coins to empty.

On eBay right now there is a TITO for MGM Grand I believe. Someone won $300, forgot to cash it in, and wants $225 for it. You have to redeem it by 20-something August.

The Cal downtown still takes coins on some of the dollar machines. Probably a lot of places downtown still do. Maybe not the GN anymore though.
