Using the search function on this site will lead you to many threads on this topic. Here is one:

Or you could use google and search for tipping etiquette.

Or someone could just answer the question. The tip is included and its usually already 18%. You could always tip extra but that%26#39;s up to you.

Check you bill.

At MGM our gratuity wasn%26#39;t included. They did however charge an ';Operator charge'; of $7.50.

Now, if the person bringing the food happens to look over at your ice chest, asked you if you want ice, then brings back ice and a couple of sodas....then leaves and you realize you gave him nothing... it%26#39;s always a good policy to call him back to the room and hand him a $10 for forgetting to tip anything.....LOL

thanks leo21 and lowrance, yeah i always se the 18% inclusion when i%26#39;m doing my research, i just wanted to know what other people do, or what is considered the NORM.

so what do you think is the NORM IF the 18% is already included?

should you tip additional amounts or NO?

I%26#39;ll still tip $5 even if tax is included. But I have no idea of what the norm is. I just feel like this person wheeled it up here and presented it nicely on my table, and asked if their was anything else he could do.... it%26#39;s Vegas..... I%26#39;m there to enjoy and spend a little without worry....

I always tip in addition to that 18% surcharge because I%26#39;m never sure how much of that if any the person who delivers it to the room gets. I usually do around 10% unless the bill is small, then I give them a bit more.

If one is a VIP, sometimes the gratuity has not been added prior to delivery. Make sure to check or ask.. Then you need to tip the full amount. We stayed at MGM 6 times and this varied each time. If the gratuity is already included in the service charge, it is up to you to decide if the service deems extra tipping. How long did you wait for service? Lots of factors weigh in. I would say that DH would always tip extra, and I would about 50% of the time.
